With a new year comes fresh new lighting trends that are set to bring exceptional brilliance to the world of home design. Whether you are planning a new build or looking to refresh your home, upgrading your lighting can be a quick and easy way to completely transform your space, regardless of your budget. Here are a few lighting trends we are excited for this coming year.
1. Natural Materials
We are thrilled this one is here to stay! Natural materials in lighting fixtures such as rattan, twine, leather, wood, and more are wonderful ways to add visual interest and texture to a space. We love seeing these fixtures in dining spaces and bedrooms!
2. Sustainable Styles + Eco-Friendly Solutions
In an age of environmental consciousness, sustainable lighting styles are rising in popularity. Energy-efficient LED technology combined with natural, eco-friendly materials like bamboo, recycled glass, or reclaimed wood, seamlessly blend sustainability with style.
3. Vintage + Retro Inspired
This year we will see more vintage inspired fixtures with a contemporary touch, blending classic designs with modern functionalities. These fixtures are a result of designer efforts to create timeless spaces and revive nostalgia. We love seeing these more refined retro designs in all areas of the home, but especially in spaces where their character can shine – bathrooms, laundry rooms, mud rooms, etc.
4. Bold + Architectural Designs
Sculptural lighting installations that captivate attention and create visually stunning focal points are here to stay. These ‘conversation starter’ fixtures materfully blend form and function, providing ambient illumination while remaining an artistic statement.
5. Personalized Design
This might just be our favorite trend yet. One of a kind, personalized lighting designs are in. Work with a lighting designer to create or customize a fixture that speaks to your own unique and personal design taste.
6. Sculptural + Minimalist
Clean lines, understated designs and unobtrusive fixtures are set to deliver a subdued yet sophisticated lighting experience. These designs will help minimalist interiors achieve the calm, neutral and intentional aesthetic.
